2019 ‘Fat Of The Land’ Barossa Valley Shiraz – Ebenezer
2019 ‘Fat Of The Land’ Barossa Valley Shiraz – Ebenezer
[FAT OF THE LAND]
The Barossa is an amazing place with a diverse history from which a great community has grown living on the Fat of the Land. Famed for its Shiraz vineyards, some dating back to the 19th century, the wines from this small, but proud region are as unique and divergent as its history and community. One can make such varied expressions of Shiraz, due to the different meso-climates of each sub-region, the elevation range, and the myriad of soil types that are to be found throughout the Barossa. The Fat of the Land series seeks to showcase the sub-regions of the Barossa, and the contrasting styles of Shiraz that can be made here.
A SOFT TEXTURED EXPRESSION OF SHIRAZ
Colour: Dark plum
Bouquet: Lifted black fruit aromas with a hint of cola and spice.
Palate: Plush, textured and brimming with luscious black fruits and chocolate with hints of Indian spice. Rich and voluptuous.
Cellaring: A wine for hedonists, so enjoy it now, or in 10 - 15 years time if you have a puritanical streak.

from 26 reviewsThe wines were delivered super quickly so we got to take a couple on our road trip and they were delicious. Looking forward to enjoying the other 4 bottles over Xmas with friends when I’m back home.
I didn't like the previous Drag Queen rose as Cinsault Mataro was just not my thing. I was privileged to taste the new 100% Grenache when it was about 2 days old and even then, it sparked something on my palate that made me think I might very much like this version when it is released. Now that it's in the bottle, it is certainly has lived up to that expectation so much so that I have added it to my wine club order. The 2024 release is definitely a winner for me.
The Spring 6 pack has a great variety which is sure to keep everyone happy, it's also a good way of trying other wines which otherwise you may have passed on.
I will be getting another pack before they run out.
This is such a great wine to drink anytime, not just summer. It isn't sweet but then not super dry enough to have no flavour. This has plenty of flavour for a prosecco and is one of my favs from First Drop. Perfect with any of their tapas dishes too!
The Matador is my favourite drop%2C perfect for long lunches or a pizza at dinner…
It's simply a devine drink now wine from First Drop. Love it!
I love this wine! It’s a lighter style, but full of flavour - so juicy and fruity! Beautiful chilled too.
Such a great tasting wine. So smooth. Great flavour going down and a great after taste.
The Matador Grenache is a beautiful tasting wine very smooth on the Palat, I will definitely be ordering some more in the near future.
Great with food or on its own, just like in the Piemonte
Always a pleasure to drink & very affordable
